Job summary

Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia, Ohio, seeks a Golf Course Manager to lead daily operations, optimize guest experience, and drive financial performance of our busy 18-hole public facility. You will oversee golf shop, tee times, tournaments, staffing, safety, and course presentation while coordinating with food and beverage and maintenance to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and proficiency with golf management software.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee all daily golf course operations.
Direct and oversee all golf simulator operations.
Ensure efficient management of tee times, pace of play, and player experience.
Coordinate with the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain course conditions and appearance.
Monitor facility cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise golf shop staff, outside services personnel, cart attendants, starters, marshals, and seasonal employees.
Conduct employee performance evaluations.
Foster a positive, professional, and customer-focused work environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Coordinate and oversee golf tournaments, leagues, outings, and special events.
Develop event packages and revenue-generating programs.
Work closely with sponsors, organizers, and participants to ensure successful events.
Assist with marketing initiatives, promotions, and social media campaigns.
Foster community relationships to increase rounds, memberships, and event bookings.
Identify opportunities to improve customer retention and grow business.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Ensure safe operation of golf carts, equipment, and facilities.
Enforce course rules and safety practices.
