Job summary

FireRock Country Club in Arizona is seeking a Head Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance of its 18-hole course, Club grounds, and related facilities. You will manage agronomy programs, irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide application while developing a high-performance team.

As hands-on leader, you will plan budgets, oversee equipment, coordinate renovations, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance, delivering superb playing conditions for members and guests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, Plant Sciences or related field.
• Certification/licensed in pesticide usage or ability to become certified/licensed within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in turfgrass management, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Club’s 18-hole golf course and practice areas to ensure exemplary playing conditions.
• Plan maintenance, improvement and renovation projects with clear communication to stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets for maintenance and capital improvements.
• Oversee equipment maintenance programs and inventory control.
• Ensure drainage, irrigation systems are designed, operated and maintained.
• Assess and implement pesticide and fertilization programs while protecting turf and environment.
• Enforce safety programs and regulatory compliance for staff and guests.
• Collaborate with Golf Operations and Club management for tournaments and events.
