Desert Mountain Club in North Scottsdale, Arizona, is seeking a Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to oversee maintenance, operation, and management of its seven signature courses. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in leadership, 4+ years in golf course roles, and a 2-year turf certificate, with pesticide eligibility in AZ or ability to obtain, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of golf maintenance leadership experience.
Minimum 4 years of well-rounded golf course experience.
A minimum two-year turf certificate in turf grass management from a recognized college or university.
Certified pesticide applicator in Arizona or ability to obtain upon hire.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule maintenance of golf courses’ equipment and team members to optimum efficiency.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and motorized equipment on the golf course.
Supervise the operation of an equipment repair shop.
Design, plan, and instruct equipment operators in mowing and other equipment care.
Supervise and participate in irrigation, drainage, and pump maintenance.
Keep records of annual maintenance activities, including chemical and fertilizer applications.
Budget, plan, and direct maintenance and repair of motorized and mechanical equipment.
Assist in irrigation, lake transfer, and related programs.
Supervise planting, fertilization, and maintenance of turf.
Assist in planning, budgeting, and supervising minor construction projects and course additions.
Maintain tees, fairways, greens, and related features to high standards for national championships.
