Job summary

Parkway School District is seeking a Head Custodian III for Henry Elementary. This year-round, 8-hour shift (2:30 pm–11 pm) is non-exempt and located in a West County area. Responsibilities include cleaning, coordinating maintenance with staff, inspecting facilities, and managing supplies for a safe, attractive environment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, and prior custodial experience is preferred. Criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned facilities and grounds to maintain a sanitary, safe environment.
• Coordinate with staff to schedule maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Inform students, staff, and on-site personnel about safety and maintenance guidelines.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safe, clean condition and identify needed repairs.
• Manage custodial supplies and equipment to ensure availability.
• Supervise custodial personnel to ensure efficient site operations.
• Participate in trainings and meetings to improve job performance.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as floor care, moves of furniture, and setup for events.
• Perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment and fixtures.
• Prepare site for daily operations and close/secure facilities.
• Prepare written reports and time sheets documenting activities.
• Restock classroom and restroom supplies as needed.
• Respond to safety and operational concerns and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
