Job summary

Marysville Post Acute is seeking a dependable cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, reporting to the Dietary Supervisor. The role emphasizes preparing nutritious meals, following menus, and maintaining sanitation across the kitchen and serving areas.

You will be responsible for safe food handling, temperature records, serving assistance, and assisting with dietary staff training as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certificate required or to be obtained.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care cooking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; cooperate with all departments.
