Job summary

South Block in Gainesville, VA is seeking a Head Coach to lead a restaurant block and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will guide a team, set the tone for service, and drive daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 2+ years of leadership, a high school diploma, and a hands-on, positive approach. Compensation includes $60,000–$70,000 base, with annual bonus potential and profit sharing, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience managing and motivating a team.
• Willingness to lead by example.
• Passion for creating awesome guest experiences.
• Things change fast! Stay cool, flexible, and solution-oriented under pressure.
• Must be at least 18 years old, and possess a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 25lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead with an owner’s mentality—ensure the team delivers South Block’s high standards each shift.
• Build schedules that balance business needs with team happiness.
• Be the go-to person for guest needs, celebrate wins and solve challenges.
• Train, coach, and develop your team; know every role inside and out.
• Keep the store running smoothly: ordering supplies, tracking inventory, deposits, and keeping the store clean and safe.
• Hire great people, onboard them with energy, and help them grow into future leaders.
• Model positivity, accountability, and the South Block spirit.
