Job summary

Ponaganset High School in Glocester, RI is seeking a Co-Ed Indoor Track Head Coach for after-school/evening duties. The ideal candidate will hold current First Aid/CPR/AED, NFHS coaching certifications and RI coaching eligibility, plus the ability to work with school officials and athletes to foster leadership

Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• Coaching application process required.
• Current & Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate.
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course (required).
• NFHS Concussion in Sports Course (annual).
• NFHS Protecting Students From Abuse (annual).
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course (annual).
• NFHS Implicit Bias Course (annual).
• NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (annual).
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention (annual).
• NFHS Title IX
• NFHS Sportsmanship
• And/or qualifications deemed substantially equivalent to those listed above.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants, small groups and teams in necessary skills.
• Supervises team members and teams at all times.
• Coordinate with officials and RI Interscholastic League rules.
• Monitor academic performance and stress academics.
• Act as a role model under stress.
• Schedule practices and games with athletic director and coaches.
• Inform athletic director about facilities and equipment.
• Communicate with athletic director about team issues.
• Notify safety concerns to athletic director.
• Delegate coaching responsibilities to assistants and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
