Job summary

Ponaganset High School in Glocester, RI is seeking a Co-Ed Indoor Track Assistant Coach (Fields) to guide student athletes in skill development and teamwork. This role emphasizes leadership, discipline, and academic balance while supporting the athletic program under the athletic director and principal.

The coach will schedule practices, monitor student progress, and ensure safety and compliance with district and state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Coaches student athletes in accordance with district and RIIL rules and policies.
• Meets current Rhode Island requirements for coaches, safety trainings and certifications.
• Receives updated National and State BCI checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants, small groups and teams in skills for a successful experience.
• Supervises team members and teams at all times.
• Knows and implements current rules and school/district policies.
• Monitors academic performance and stresses importance of academics.
• Acts as a role model with respect for officials and opponents during stressful situations.
• Coordinates practice and game scheduling with athletic director and other coaches.
• Reports facility, equipment, and uniform conditions to the athletic director.
