Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking coaches for the spring athletics season (March 9, 2027 – June 14, 2027). Candidates must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate, provide proof of experience for substitute certs, and be CPR and AED certified.

Additional required certifications include Concussion Awareness and Wellness and Heat Acclimatization Awareness, with annual renewals.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder.
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be available daily during the spring sports season.
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both.
• Must obtain a Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• Must obtain a Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in Sports First Aid.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Pending budget availability.
• All postings are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website.
