Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci operations is seeking a Lead Cook to oversee food production, plan recipes, and manage kitchen operations on-site. You will ensure sanitation, train staff, supervise catering and deliveries, and enforce purchasing specs and waste controls to maintain quality and cost.

Qualifications include a post-secondary culinary arts program or at least two years of experience, ability to obtain Arizona Food Handler’s Card within 1 month, and a high school diploma or GED preferred.

• Ability to obtain an Arizona Food Handler’s Card within 1 month of employment.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food production and manage kitchen operations.
• Plan recipes and menus to maintain standards for food quality, presentation, and cost.
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness and train staff in cooking methods and food preparation.
• Monitor and coach kitchen staff, schedule for caterings and deliveries, and enforce purchasing specifications and waste control procedures.
• Train staff on food production principles and ensure adherence to standardized recipes.
• Evaluate current practices and initiate improvements to enhance product and service quality.
