Job summary

Plainwell Community Schools is seeking a head coach to organize and supervise the total sports program, with prior coaching experience and deep technical knowledge of the sport. The position emphasizes development of student athletes’ skills, character, and discipline, with ongoing professional development through clinics and observations.

Qualifications

• Must organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and training to achieve individual and team success.
• Demonstrate behaviors that promote character, self-discipline, self-confidence and pride.
• Upgrade knowledge through coaching clinics, observations and consultation.
• Serve as a role model for student athletes through actions and instructions.
• Coordinate and supervise staff of high school and middle school coaches with athletic director and principals.
• Assist in scheduling, transportation arrangements and tournament logistics.
• Maintain discipline and ensure safety of facilities and equipment.
