Job summary

Plainwell Community Schools seeks an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the DCMS program. The role involves teaching fundamentals, strategy and conditioning to athletes, and coordinating with the athletic director and staff to support a successful season.

You will mentor student athletes, model positive behavior, and assist with scheduling, transportation and tournament planning while upholding school policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching major sports at high school level.
• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Substantial knowledge of the sport's technical aspects and ongoing learning.
• Serve as a positive role model for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and conditioning for team success.
• Coach and supervise a staff of assistant coaches and coordinate with the athletic director.
• Ensure adherence to athletic policies and game/event procedures.
• Maintain discipline, morale and cooperation among staff and players.
• Assist in scheduling, transportation and tournament preparations.
• Oversight of equipment, facilities and safety procedures.
• Mentor student athletes on character development and academics.
• Communicate with parents and school administration as needed.
