Job summary

Plainwell Community Schools is seeking a Head Coach to organize and supervise the entire athletic program. The role requires extensive coaching experience, leadership, and the ability to implement policies across staff and students.

The head coach will report to the athletic director in collaboration with high school principals, supervise a team of coaches, manage scheduling, budgeting, and safety, and promote strong character development and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of athletic policies and their implementation by all staff.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate a staff of coaches.
• Strong leadership and decision-making with student-athlete focus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise the total sports program.
• Supervise and support high school and middle school coaches.
• Coordinate scheduling, transportation, facilities, and events.
• Promote sportsmanship, character development, and student-athlete safety.
• Advise athletic director and principals on policy changes.
• Direct student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
• Maintain equipment, budgets, and staff discipline.
• Foster strong public relations and community involvement.
