You will operate a register, handle returns, and ensure accurate transactions while maintaining store safety and organization. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, cashier experience, and comfort with basic computer use and retail tech.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 year experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology (smartphones/tablets).
• 1 year of retail cashier experience.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Responds knowledgeably to questions and guides customers to areas of the store, walking them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information about stock, special orders, features, warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds per company guidelines.
• Maintains register area and ensures adequate coverage by assisting with line vesting and additional registers.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and verifies functionality of registers and scanners.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders and loads tickets.
• Looks up product information and price-match against competitors.
• Records store-use items and performs daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists with security.
• Identifies shoplifting indicators and reports to management/Asset Protection.
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
• Adheres to safety requirements and uses safety devices where applicable.
• Operates store equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
