Lowe’s in New York is seeking a customer-focused cashier to join the front-end team. You will operate a cash register, process transactions, assist customers, and maintain store cleanliness and safety while delivering friendly service.

You’ll handle loading, price checks, returns, and provide product information while collaborating with associates to meet store goals. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer/employees by guiding them to areas and walking them through projects.
• Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, features, and warranty information for Lowe’s programs.
• Coaches, develops, trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team).
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines.
• Provides proper monetary change to front-end associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround and ensure adequate register coverage.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end, checks functionality of registers and scanners, stocks supplies.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching.
• Records items used in the store on use lists and completes daily cash duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels to stay within limits.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or staff who trigger alarms.
• Detects shoplifting and communicates risks to management/Asset Protection.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and store/work area organization (Zone Recovery).
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment with daily safety reviews and hazard notes.
• Follows safety requirements (stock safety, cable safety, blockers, tether lines, etc.).
• Operates store equipment as needed (Zebra phone, POS, scanners, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
