Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of the specific sport.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the school mission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Orientation toward continuous improvement and transformational coaching.

Responsibilities

• Head coach is responsible for all aspects of running the program including try-outs, team selection, practices, games, etc.
• Coordinate with school administration and athletic department to align with district policies.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and positive environment and build strong relationships with students and families.
