Job summary

Veritas Consulting & Construction Group, LLC in Hallsville, MO is hiring a Head Bookkeeper to take over our company books from ownership. This is a hands-on role starting with learning the current workflow before stepping into ownership of month-end close, job costing, and liaising with our CPA.

During training you’ll split duties with the Coordinator, then assume full responsibility with pay moving to $25/hour. The position is in-office, full-time with standard hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with reconciliations.
• Solid QuickBooks Online skills (reconciliations, journal entries).
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposits.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary QuickBooks Online user and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Reconcile all bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly.
• Record client payments, deposits, and owner-approved transfers.
• Run the month-end close and deliver plain-language financial reports.
• Produce job costing, project margin, and WIP reports.
• Coordinate with CPA and prepare year-end package.
• Stay cross-trained on Coordinator role and cover it when needed.
