Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Coach (Sports) to guide students in an Extended Day Duty activity, emphasizing safe practices and high standards in coaching and advising. The role requires leadership, sportsmanship, and reliable supervision of student health and welfare.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Principal/Athletic Director, maintaining equipment, and documenting activity outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required for athletic activity.
• Nevada Teaching Certificate desirable but not required.
• Experience coaching/advising in the activity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership; exemplifies good sportsmanship and fair discipline.
• Maintains cooperation and communication with Principal/Athletic Director and other Extended Day staff; informs on program activities (games, trips).
• Develops accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment.
• Engages with school and community to foster positive public relations.
• Attends contests and practice sessions.
• Completes reports evaluating the activity and recommends improvements.
