Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Coach (Sports) to support students in an Extended Day activity. Under supervision, you will coach or advise students, promote safe practices and maintain equipment and records.

Responsibilities include leading practices, attending games, communicating with administrators, and fostering community relations while upholding sportsmanship and district policies.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to education and experience that could likely provide required knowledge and skills.
• Possession of CPR certification is required for coaches/advisors involved in an athletic activity.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership; acts as a positive role model and enforces discipline per procedures; ensures student health and welfare.
• Maintains cooperation with Principal and/or Athletic Director and informs them about the program, trips, games, etc.
• Develops a system for accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment.
• Develops good public relations in the school and community.
• Attends contests and practice sessions and completes reports evaluating the activity and recommending improvements.
