Job summary

Role Description

The Head Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Amarillo, TX, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities for Haven ASG and its divisions. This position manages the general ledger, manages Accounts Payable hands-on, supervises accounts receivable, and ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, managing payroll-related accounting, coordinating audits, and implementing internal controls. The role collaborates closely with operations and leadership teams to provide accurate financial insights that support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and month-end close processes.
• Knowledge of tax compliance, audit preparation, and regulatory requirements relevant to corporate and aviation-related businesses.
• Proficiency with Quickbooks Online accounting software and ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in spreadsheet and financial modeling tools.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and presenting financial information to leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred. Experience factors more than the degree.
• Prior experience in aviation, transportation, or related industries is an advantage.
• Leadership experience supervising accounting staff and developing high-performing teams is beneficial.
