Job summary

Guardian Jet is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and supervise journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. The role partners with our CPA and Treasurer to drive financial insights for strategic decisions.

Based on Guilford, CT, this full-time on-site position requires expertise in general ledger management, cash flow monitoring, budgeting, and tax coordination in a consulting/aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Role Description

The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Guilford, CT, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role manages the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, supervises journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities, and maintains the general ledger. The Accounting Manager will oversee fixed asset accounting, monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights for decision-making. The role will initially work alongside our current CPA and Treasurer.

Qualifications

• Experience owning or heavily participating in: monthly close, general ledger, financial statements, cash management, AP/AR oversight, payroll/accounting coordination, budgeting, audit/tax coordination, banking relationships
• Candidates should possess strong skills in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements and related reports.
• Candidates should possess solid finance and analytical skills to interpret financial data and support business decisions.
• Candidates should possess experience with journal entries, general ledger management, and period-end closing processes.
• Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience as an Accounting Manager or in a senior accounting role, preferably in a consulting, aviation, or professional services environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software Quickbooks, advanced Excel skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work on-site in Guilford, CT, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders.
• Big 4 and private company accounting experience preferred.
