Job summary

Tektronix is seeking a PCB Layout Designer & Engineering Technician to translate schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts for new products and sustaining engineering. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to support prototypes, lab activities, and design verification.

Required: an Associate degree, 1+ year PCB layout experience, and proficiency with Altium, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor PADS. Knowledge of DFx, documentation, and AI tool usage is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics/engineering technology or CAD design.
• At least one year of PCB layout experience.
• Experience with PCB CAD tools such as Altium, Cadence Allegro, Mentor PADS or similar.
• Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• Experience creating manufacturing documentation packages.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with AI tools to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Create complex PCB layouts from electrical schematics using approved ECAD tools (Siemens Xpedition).
• Develop multilayer PCB designs, including high-density, mixed-signal, analog, digital, RF, and power designs.
• Perform component placement, routing, stack-up implementation, and design optimization.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and design-for-testability (DFT) principles.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to resolve signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMI/EMC concerns.
• Generate fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing documentation packages.
• Support PCB design reviews and implement approved design changes.
