Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior ECAD Designer to own PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer, with depth in power electronics and high-speed design. You will partner with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production-ready boards on schedule.

You will Design power delivery networks, controlled-impedance routing, and DFMA workflows while maintaining IPC- Standards compliance and thorough documentation for manufacturing release.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience designing power electronics: DC/DC converters and power planes.
• Experience with high-speed layout: impedance control, differential pairs, length matching.
• Familiarity with IPC standards; CID certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• PCB Design & Layout: Schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal, power, and high-speed boards.
• Power Design: Design and route power delivery networks for DC/DC converters and bus distribution.
• High-Speed Design: Impedance-controlled routing, differential pairs, length matching.
• DFM / DFA: Work with fabricators on design rules, panelization, tolerancing and cost tradeoffs.
• EMC / EMI: Grounding, shielding, filtering to mitigate EMI/EMC risk and support pre‑compliance.
• Documentation: Generate Gerbers, drill files, BOMs, fabrication drawings and lifecycle docs.
• Library Management: Create Altium symbols, footprints, and library data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align layout with system requirements with electrical, mechanical, thermal teams.
• Mentorship: Guide junior designers on layout best practices and documentation.
