Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Drill Operator to proficiently operate HDD equipment for conduit, fiber, and utility installations. You will read prints, locate utilities, and ensure precise bore placement while maintaining safety and production standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of directional drilling experience, familiarity with Ditch Witch or Vermeer HDD gear, and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of directional drilling experience or equivalent training.
• Familiarity with Ditch Witch or Vermeer HDD equipment.
• Ability to read construction plans and understand underground utility locates.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling rigs and support equipment to install underground utilities according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret construction prints, locate utilities, and mark underground services accurately.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
• Ensure proper placement of conduit using bore logs and tracking systems.
• Collaborate with field crews to set up equipment, mix drilling fluid, and pull back conduit or pipe.
• Maintain accurate records of bore lengths, depths, and site conditions.
• Adhere to all company and regulatory safety procedures and requirements.
• Assist with potholing, locating, trenching, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Work in various terrain and weather conditions while maintaining productivity and quality.
