Qualifications

• Experience gathering requirements, coordinating stakeholders, testing, and documenting processes

Responsibilities

• Partner with HCM stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into system solutions
• Coordinate project activities across HCM, IT, vendors, and stakeholders to move initiatives forward
• Support testing and validation of Workday enhancements and downstream integrations
• Help manage and improve HCM processes across the employee lifecycle, including payroll and benefits
• Perform data audits and validations to maintain accuracy across Workday and related systems
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and documentation
• Create and maintain process documentation, user guides, and testing materials
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support day-to-day HCM initiatives and take on increasing ownership over time

Location: New York City, NY - Hybrid Remote Schedule - 4 days onsite with Friday's remote

Our client is seeking an HCM Analyst to join a growing Human Capital Management (HCM) team and support an expanding HR technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career HR, HRIS or HCM professional looking to broaden their exposure to Workday, HR systems and cross-functional projects.

This is not a technical Workday configuration role. Instead, the position will focus on project coordination, process improvement, testing, documentation, data integrity and supporting the connection between HR processes and technology. The Analyst will gain exposure across multiple HCM functions and have the opportunity to take on increasing project ownership over time.

What You'll Do

• Partner with HCM stakeholders to gather business requirements, understand existing processes, and help translate needs into practical system and process solutions.
• Coordinate project activities, track deliverables, and work across HCM, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep initiatives moving forward.
• Support testing and validation of Workday enhancements, system updates, business processes, and downstream integrations.
• Help manage and improve HCM processes across the employee lifecycle, including the systems and data supporting payroll and benefits.
• Perform data audits, reconciliations, and validation to maintain accuracy across Workday and downstream systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, documentation, and the overall employee and HR user experience.
• Create and maintain process documentation, user guides, testing materials, and other HCM resources.
• Troubleshoot issues, research potential solutions, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support day-to-day HCM initiatives and take on increased ownership of projects as experience grows.

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 2-3 years of professional experience, ideally with exposure to Human Resources, HRIS, HCM systems, or HR-related projects.
• Foundational knowledge of Workday and HR processes. Deep Workday configuration experience is not required.
• Experience supporting projects through activities such as requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, testing, documentation, task management, or process improvement.
• An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and an interest in understanding how processes, systems, and data work together.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain system or process concepts clearly to HR stakeholders.
• Comfortable working hands-on with testing, documentation, data validation, and other detailed aspects of HR systems projects.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow projects through completion, and proactively communicate questions, risks, or roadblocks.
• Experience within financial services or professional services is preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
