Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc in New York seeks an Application Architect and Developer to design and implement enterprise‑grade tax processing solutions using Java, OpenText Exstream Cloud Native, Cobol and DB2. You will contribute to the NYS Tax Modernization program by crafting scalable architecture and robust software components.

Qualifications

• 72 months of Java programming in an IBM environment with an eclipse-based IDE.
• 84 months of experience developing tax processing systems in a federal, state or municipal agency.
• 84 months installing, configuring, patching OpenText Exstream software and architecting complex business applications.
• 84 months of IBM COBOL programming experience on IBM mainframes.

Application architect and developer using Java, OpenText Exstream Cloud Native, Cobol and DB2 to assemble data and create correspondence for mailing.

Project/Program

NYS Tax Modernization.

Day-to-day Tasks

• Production support of existing applications.
• Analysis, design, coding, and unit/integration testing.
• Create and update program specification and detail design documentation.
• Application performance tuning.
• Mentor junior programmers.
• Application development for modernization effort.

Mandatory Qualifications

Software Architect–

Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi‑leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.

Expert

84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Qualifications
