Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using class A trucks across designated routes. The role involves diverse trailer types and periodic overnight shifts, with weekends/holidays off except for critical needs.

Responsibilities include DOT compliance, loading/unloading, and maintaining logs and manifests, plus customer interactions and site safety participation.

Qualifications

• A valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and various trailers.
• Perform LTL pickups and ensure proper loading and securing of waste.
• Maintain driver documents such as logs, permits, trip reports, and manifests.
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste handling, labeling, and loading.
• Follow state weight limit laws and drive safely in accordance with regulations.
• Utilize company mobile apps and technology as directed by leadership.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections.
• Interact professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining clean and safe facility grounds.
• Possibly serve as technician on lab pack and field service projects.
• Participate in Site Safety programs and training.
