Job summary

Republic Services in Spokane, WA is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class A equipment. Duties include operating tractors/ trailers, performing pickups, and ensuring DOT compliance with hazmat regulations.

The role may require occasional overnight shifts and weekend work based on customer needs. The position emphasizes safe operation, accurate documentation, and effective communication with customers while adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications

Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading materials.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Must be able to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractor-trailers, and box trucks.
Performs LTL pickups.
Maintains driver documents such as logs and manuals.
Understand DOT regulations for hazardous waste collection, packaging and transport.
Drive compliant with state weight limit laws and safety regulations.
Utilize company mobile apps and technology.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction.
Assist in facility housekeeping and field service projects.
Possibly function as a technician on lab pack projects.
