Job summary

Clean Harbors in Wichita, KS is hiring a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to drive a range of heavy and light trucks at customer sites for hazardous waste cleanup, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers and roll-offs. Driving and non-driving duties occur on and off site, with potential on-call and out-of-town work.

New hires attend a two-week out-of-state Academy training (paid; expenses covered). Salary range is $26-29+ per hour, with health benefits after 30 days, a 401(k) match, company-paid

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Background check, drug test, and medical examination as required by position.
• Facial hair standards per OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard 29 CFR 1910.134.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices and policies.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Manual labor on site to meet customer needs.
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and reports.
• Follow local, state and federal regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and company guidelines.
• On-call for emergency response on rotating basis.
• Site remediation and handling of hazardous materials.
