Job summary

Clean Harbors in Columbus, OH is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks and roll-offs, with duties on and off site for hazardous waste cleanup.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, starting around 6 am, with 8–10+ hour days and overtime after 40 hours. New hires attend a two-week out-of-state Academy training, paid by the company.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred or within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Must be able to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Background check, drug test and medical examination required by position.
• Facial hair standards per OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Operate Class A trucks and assist field laborers as part of a team.
• Load and unload trucks and perform on-site manual labor when needed.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet DOT requirements.
• Maintain logs, time sheets and incident reports; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Be available for emergency response on rotating schedule and support site remediation where required.
