Job summary

Clean Harbors in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to drive a range of heavy and light trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks and roll-offs, with hazardous cleanup duties.

New hires attend a two-week academy out of state, paid by the company. Overtime, emergency response, and travel up to 2 weeks may be required; benefits begin after 30 days in full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required or ability to obtain Hazmat/Tanker endorsements within 90 days.
• Ability to use various mobile devices and perform physical requirements.
• Successful completion of background check, drug test and fitness evaluation as applicable.
• Compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection standards for respirator positions.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed in a team environment.
• Drive a variety of Class A trucks and load/unload cargo.
• Perform manual labor on site to meet customer needs.
• Ensure proper placarding to meet DOT requirements.
• Maintain logs, time sheets and reports; follow all local, state and federal rules.
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT guidelines and company policies.
• participate in on-call emergency response on rotating basis; support site remediation and hazardous material handling.
