Job summary

Veolia North America is hiring a hazardous waste handler to perform routine tasks, moving solids and liquids under supervision. You will load/unload containers, decontaminate drums, and assist with paperwork and transport between locations on a safety-focused site.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and some experience with hazardous waste handling. Training on equipment use and safety is provided, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write effectively.
• Trained to operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers).
• Construct boxes/containers, label and load them for processing.
• Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels and jackhammers as directed.
• Transport hazardous waste materials within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums per RCRA guidelines.
• Complete paperwork for material transport between locations.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain a safe work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading hazardous and non-hazardous waste at designated sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
