Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a waste technician to perform routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks. You will move solids and liquids, assist with decontamination, and participate in loading and unloading operations within a regulated environment.

Under supervision, you will handle containers, operate basic tools, complete paperwork for transport, and maintain a clean, safe work area while adhering to RCRA guidelines and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate through reading and writing.
• Trained in the use of material handling equipment.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers).
• Construct boxes and/or fiber containers and loads containers.
• Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers.
• Transport hazardous waste materials within the facility.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums per guidelines.
• Assist in completing paperwork for material transport.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites.
