Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Waste Handler to perform routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks, move solids and liquids, and support cleaning and decontamination operations under direct supervision. Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, transporting waste, completing required paperwork, and maintaining a safe work area.

A High School diploma (or GED) is preferred, with 3–6 months in hazardous waste and forklift familiarity encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior 3–6 months of hazardous waste or chemical industry experience with proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers, etc.).
• Transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums/containers per RCRA and disposal guidelines.
• Assist in completing paperwork for processing materials including transportation to locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites with proper equipment.
