Job summary

Clean Harbors in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Field Services Technician I for field tasks including hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. The role requires on-call scheduling and travel; new hires will attend a two-week out-of-state academy with paid training.

Starting pay is $22/hr, with comprehensive benefits after 30 days of full-time employment and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical functions per key responsibilities.
• On-call availability, may require weekend/holiday work.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required.
• Compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection standards.
• Previous relevant labor experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow Health and Safety policies to keep safety as top priority.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and hand tools.
• Use PPE properly including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures indoor/outdoor.
• Work with potential exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Participate in field sampling and meter calibration.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and move between containers.
• Be on-call for emergency response on rotating schedule.
• Support site-remediation and decontamination tasks.
