Job summary

Clean Harbors in Omaha, NE is seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join a safety‑driven team. The role involves hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Requirements include a valid driver's license, ability to perform heavy physical work, and preparedness for emergency response and travel up to two weeks at a time. Training and on‑the‑job learning are provided; pay is hourly with overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
• This position includes emergency response and on-call duties; weekends/holidays may be required; emergency response can extend long hours.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required by position.
• Respiratory protection requires compliance with facial hair standards per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and various hand tools and powered industrial tools.
• Wear and use PPE properly, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures and weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely during loading/unloading.
• Conduct waste stream sampling and calibration of meters when needed.
• Attend compliance and safety update meetings and observe all guidelines.
• Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis; participate in site remediation and decontamination as required.
