Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist I to work at customer sites, ensuring safety, proper packaging, and up-to-date documentation for hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste removal services.

Responsibilities include waste collection and characterization, assisting with shipment documentation, and on-site support during inspections and waste handling. Willingness to travel and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of chemistry principles and practices.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documentation and regulations.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Possess a valid driver's license and pass respirator fit test.

Responsibilities

• Collect, characterize and package customer waste for final disposal.
• Assist in transporting customer waste in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Process customer paperwork including Packing Lists, Waste Labels and Shipping Documents.
• Support on-site activities at customer locations such as inspections, waste collection, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with team to identify suspected contents via field screening tests.
