Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill.

The role includes off-loading trucks, stabilizing waste, processing treatments, and sampling post-treated materials for lab testing. Qualified candidates will have experience with equipment operation, basic vehicle inspection, and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• HAZWOP ER (40-hour) or ability to pass course upon hire.
• Experience operating light and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Process treatment of materials and containers.
• Sample post-treated materials for testing by laboratory.
• Load cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
• Perform general preventive maintenance on equipment and housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
