Job summary

Four Seasons Resort Hualālai in Hawaii seeks a Hawaiian Cultural Manager to lead the resort's Cultural Center and craft authentic experiences that celebrate Hawaiian traditions and language. You will guide the Mea Ho'okipa team and advise resort leadership on cultural programming across departments.

You will collaborate with Marketing and PR on storytelling, coordinate events, and represent the resort in community and educational activities, ensuring guests and staff engage with Hawaiian culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Education, Hospitality Management, Cultural Anthropology, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• Deep knowledge and appreciation of Hawaiian culture, customs, traditions, history, and protocols.
• Leadership experience with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a team.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience facilitating educational, cultural, community, or hospitality programs.
• Previous luxury hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the resort's Cultural Center programming and experiences.
• Create engaging cultural activities, classes, lectures, ceremonies, and events for guests, members, employees, and the community.
• Serve as a cultural ambassador by creating meaningful guest and member interactions throughout the resort.
• Provide cultural guidance and advisement to resort leadership and departments.
• Coordinate cultural blessings, educational discussions, and special programs that strengthen connections to Hawaiian culture and traditions.
• Recruit, mentor, coach, schedule, and support the Mea Ho'okipa team.
• Partner with Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, and Commercial teams on storytelling initiatives, events, and guest experiences.
• Represent the resort at community, cultural, and educational events throughout Hawaiʻi Island.

HAWAIIAN CULTURAL MANAGER

As the Hawaiian Cultural Manager, you will lead the resort's cultural initiatives and programming while fostering authentic experiences that celebrate Hawaiian traditions, values, language, history, and protocols. You will oversee the Cultural Center, guide cultural activities and events, provide cultural advisement across the resort, and lead the Mea Ho'okipa team in delivering exceptional guest and member experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

WHAT TO BRING

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
• Deep knowledge and appreciation of Hawaiian culture, customs, traditions, history, and protocols.
• Leadership experience with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a team.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience facilitating educational, cultural, community, or hospitality programs.
• Strong organizational and event-planning abilities.
• Ability to engage guests, members, community organizations, and resort employees from diverse backgrounds.
• Bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Education, Hospitality Management, Cultural Anthropology, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Previous luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Cultural practitioner recognition, educational certification, or related professional credentials preferred.
