Job summary

AEP Hawaii is seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure on Oahu. This hands-on role requires ownership of day-to-day operations and comfort with legacy Windows-based systems.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in systems administration or IT support, with Windows Server 2012/2016, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 expertise. Hawaii-based or relocating candidates are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in a systems administration or IT support role.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012/2016) and Active Directory.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related tools.
Experience supporting multi-site or distributed environments is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a calm, solution-oriented mindset.
Hawaii-based or relocating - local candidates strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and user accounts
Provide Tier 2/3 support for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple locations
Manage system backups, patches, and updates across the infrastructure
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
Support end users across retail/operations locations throughout Oahu
Coordinate with vendors and third-party IT service providers
Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures
Assist with hardware procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management
