Job summary
Ayrton Energy in Hawaii seeks a hands-on Pilot Plant Operator to support process development and scale-up at our pilot facility for a 6–9 month contract. You will run experimental and semi-continuous processes, collaborate with engineers and scientists, and ensure safe operations following Ayrton SOPs.
The role requires 5+ years of operator experience, ability to troubleshoot, document data precisely, and relocate to Hawaii.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as process/plant/chemical operator.
- Comfort in experimental, non-routine settings.
- Ability to troubleshoot and document data.
- Experience with basic process equipment and instrumentation.
- Willing to relocate to Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe operations of Ayrton pilot plant per safety protocols.
- Operate pilot-scale process equipment per batch and campaigns.
- Run experimental runs and adjust parameters with R&D staff.
- Monitor and log process data and flag deviations.
- Perform routine equipment setup and basic troubleshooting.
- Run basic lab analysis per SOPs.
- Coordinate startup/shutdowns with site stakeholders.
- Help write evolving SOPs.
- Supervise and train junior team members.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
