Job summary

Sea Dragon Energy is seeking a Pilot Plant Operator-Technician to manage chemical process skids, monitor operations, collect and analyze samples, and perform routine maintenance with strict safety compliance.

This full-time role at the Hawaii Ocean Science & Technology Park in Kailua-Kona involves rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, and requires strong communication to address process issues and coordinate with the Site Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher.
• 3 years in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environment.
• Proactive communication to alert others to issues around the pilot plant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment with chemical process equipment and wear PPE.
• Operate chemical process skids and interact with valves, PLCs, pumps, and reactors.
• Monitor skid operation and troubleshoot parameter deviations.
• Acquire samples and analyze them in the site quality lab.
• Perform equipment maintenance and basic repairs, coordinating with vendors as needed.
• Respond to spills and cleanup with corrective action.
• Operate a forklift as required, and work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights.
