Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Aggregates team in Newtown, CT. You will operate haul trucks on site, perform pre-start checks, and help maintain equipment while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates demonstrate safe operation of heavy machinery, adherence to safety regulations, strong communication with teammates, and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions with good physical endurance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operate haul trucks to transport materials within the site.

• Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on equipment.

• Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns.

• Assist with site maintenance and other tasks as needed.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Conditions of Employment:

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
  

Work Environment: Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

• $25.00 to $26.00 per hour
