Job summary

Aviagen is hiring a Hatchery Lab Technician I in Elkmont, Alabama. The role focuses on managing day-to-day laboratory quality system operations, coordinating activities to meet ISO requirements, and reporting on performance.

You will liaise with Laboratory Management to ensure compliance and maintain accurate data across the hatchery lab. Responsibilities include processing samples, preparing media, maintaining supplies, and adhering to biosecurity and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work flexible hours due to varying hatchery start times.
• Comfortable with biosecurity, PPE and sample handling procedures.
• Attention to data accuracy and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process samples and record results in the laboratory data system.
• Follow lab work instructions and perform routine tests under supervision.
• Prepare media and solutions used in the laboratory.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure readiness to prevent delays.
• Work weekends as needed and adhere to ISO 17025 standards and biosecurity policies.
