Job summary

Aviagen in the United States is seeking candidates for our Hatchery Service Team to support chick handling and processing operations. You will check and grade chicks to quality standards, assemble transport boxes, label orders, and perform manual handling in a fast-paced hatchery environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, adhering to hygiene and biosecurity protocols, wearing PPE, and reporting accidents or near misses.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Check & Grade Chicks to the Quality Standard.
• Build Boxes for chick transport and complete labels to distinguish orders.
• Manual handling when transferring eggs and other items within the hatchery.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and materials are stocked.
• Maintain biosecurity and welfare standards for chicks and eggs.
• Follow cleaning, hygiene and PPE protocols; report accidents or near misses.
• Work as part of a team to meet production targets.
