Job summary

Select Genetics in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Back Crew Lead to supervise production in the hatchery, perform egg audits, transfer eggs, and ensure safety and biosecurity.

This role requires strong math and computer skills, prior hatchery or animal experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A bilingual Spanish speaker is preferred. You will collaborate with Egg Room and Back Crew Supervisors and may work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Excellent math skills are required.
• Computer skills are essential.
• Prior experience with animals or hatchery preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience desired.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking ability desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Back Crew employees during production in the absence of the Back Hatch Crew Supervisor.
• Perform Egg Audits and checks for deficiencies.
• Develop and implement Pull Order schedules.
• Complete Hatchability Paperwork and set sheets for office submission.
• Transfer eggs from incubators to hatchers.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist as needed to keep production running.
• Prepare the Pull Order for the following day.
• Work extended workdays and weekends as needed.
