Job summary

B & G Supply is seeking a Yard Worker to assist in a busy hardware yard, greet clients and help with gear handling, stacking and loading, and ensure the yard is clean and well organized. The role requires ability to work safely and independently or with others, and to follow shop protocols.

Responsibilities include maintaining a neat workspace, coordinating with shop staff, operating hand tools and equipment, and reporting damages to the shop supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of general work experience is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate basic tools and equipment in a safe and proficient manner.
• Experience using computers and basic typing skills is required.
• Ability to follow security guidelines, rules, and procedures.
• Ability to work with various hardware, including heavy equipment, safely.
• Ability to maintain proper written records and computer databases.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to internal and external clients.
• Assist with loading or unloading hardware, materials, or supplies.
• Coordinate and maintain the hardware yard.
• Clean equipment using appropriate methods.
• Check in and report gear damage to shop supervisor.
• Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure availability.
• Work independently or with others.
• Provide information to the counter or shop on a case-by-case basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
