Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee yard personnel, direct loading/unloading, and ensure safe, efficient movement of goods on site. You will train new yard staff, supervise receiving and storage procedures, and maintain orderly outdoor spaces.

The role requires a strong safety focus, ability to read schedules, and coordination of manpower and equipment. Four years of yard/manufacturing experience and a HS diploma or GED are required; outdoor work in varying conditions is

• Ability to read schedules and reports.

Responsibilities

• Directs yard workers in loading, unloading and movement of materials; oversees receiving and storage procedures.
• Inspects loading operations for outgoing deliveries; prepares bills of lading and packing slips.
• Provides on-the-job training on product knowledge and safety procedures.
• Ensures yard areas are neat; recycles or disposes debris; reports safety hazards and coordinates remedial action.
• Assists customers in loading and provides delivery status information.
