Job summary

Cloudflare seeks a Hardware Systems Engineer in Austin to influence infrastructure choices for a large-scale fleet. You will work with engineering, product, sourcing, and performance teams to design, qualify, and maintain servers worldwide.

The role emphasizes collaboration, firmware updates, and optimization of hardware-software integration, with growth opportunities and equity participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or CS.
• Interest in compute design engineering, validation and performance benchmarking.
• Willingness to learn Cloudflare hardware and products at scale.

Responsibilities

• Assist end-to-end server product qualification from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with strategy, sourcing and capacity planning on server infra.
• Onboard next-gen servers into provisioning and fleet management tools.
• Optimize hardware-software co-design for performance and reliability.
• Triage hardware issues and coordinate firmware updates.
• Document results and share improvements via internal posts.
