Job summary

NRG Energy in Seattle, WA is seeking a Hardware Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead supplier selection, cost control, and cross‑functional collaboration across Hardware Engineering, Program Management and Operations. You will manage RFQ processes, supplier relationships, and risk mitigation to meet part availability, quality and ramp targets.

This role requires 5–7 years in high‑volume electronics sourcing, a Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-7 years direct experience in supplier / supply chain management.
• Experience in a consumer electronics product company.
• Strong analytical skills and cost modeling.

Responsibilities

• Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate suppliers, manage RFQ process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional partners.
• Develop and own supplier/commodity/category sourcing strategies, ensuring that suppliers are capable of meeting Vivint's current and future technical and business requirements.
• Negotiate various agreements to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms.
• Own, manage, and approve the ramp plan, ongoing production plan and forecast, tooling qualification schedule and tooling life for all designated suppliers.
• Influence supplier technology roadmaps and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Vivint's system architecture and commercial requirements are met.
